Wolfsburg could name an unchanged XI from the side that were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at the weekend, although manager Dieter Hecking could recall Vieirinha to the starting fold if he has recovered in time.
The Russian side could revert back to 4-2-3-1 for the trip to Germany having used this formation in seven of their eight matches so far this season. Ahmed Musa could miss out after Seydou Doumbia impressed last time out.
Prediction
Both sides will fancy their chances of taking one of the two top spots in this open group and will be desperate of getting off to a good start in the group.
This will be Wolfsburg's first Champions League match since the 2009/10 competition and they kick off the campaign in the same way they started their first one - with a home match against CSKA Moscow.
The Russian outfit could feel fatigue after throwing away a 2-0 lead against Zenit in their last match and this could give Wolfsburg the edge.
