O Borussia Dortmund já tinha garantido a vaga na próxima fase da Europa League e, nesta quinta-feira, tentava confirmar também a primeira colocação do Grupo C. Porém, do outro lado, o Krasnodar, que jogava no Stadion Kuban, também queria a classificação - e conseguiu. Com um gol de pênalti logo no início, os russos venceram por 1 a 0.

O resultado rendeu a eliminação do PAOK e do Qabala, que ainda jogam nesta rodada. Agora, as duas equipes vão decidir na última rodada quem será o campeão da chave, já que ambas têm dez pontos somados. O Dortmund recebe os gregos, enquanto que o Krasnodar visita o time do Azerbaijão.

Antes mesmo que as duas equipes pudessem sentir melhor a partida, um pênalti foi marcado no primeiro ataque, aos 26 segundos. Depois de um cruzamento para a área, Hummels chegou atrasado e puxou Pereyra, que poderia receber a bola livre na área. Thomas Tuchel’s team narrowly won the reverse fixture 2-1 thanks to an injury time winner scored by Joo-Ho Park, and since then they have won eight games in all competitions. They were handed a frustrating defeat away to Hamburg on Friday, however, one that leaves them eight points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, but they remain unbeaten in the Europa League and will be looking to continue that good run here in Russia.
