Юрген Клоп отказывается от предложения федерации футбола Мексики возглавить команду Эль Три.
The El Tri chief indicated that the national association had approached the German manager but 48-year-old decided against the taking opportunity
Guillermo Cantu, the secretary general of the Mexican Football Federation, has indicated that the national governing body approached former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp to take over at El Tri, but the German coach turned the job down.
Klopp left Dortmund following a disappointing 2014-15 season in which the club missed out on qualification for Champions League football and has been heavily linked with the Liverpool manager's job, should Brendan Rodgers's time at Anfield come to an end.
But the 48-year-old is believed to be taking a sabbatical year away from football and Cantu has indicated that the sustained break was a central reason behind the German's decision to turn Mexico down.
"We spoke to his representative, but he said he is on a sabbatical and it would not be possible now", the secretary general told the Marcaje Personal programme.
And Cantu also believes Klopp "would be at a short-term disadvantage" because he is not familiar with Mexican football and does not speak Spanish.
It is believed that Juan Carlos Osorio remains the favourite to take the Mexico job, following Ricardo Feretti's time in charge.
